Maidstone Grammar School Consultation on Admission Arrangements for September 2027
Period of consultation: Wednesday 3 December 2025 to Wednesday 14 January 2026

As our own admissions authority, we are required under the School Admissions Code to review our admissions policy annually and consult on any proposed changes.

Year 7
There are no changes to our entry criteria into Year 7.

Sixth Form
Our sixth form criteria has not been changed in terms of entry requirements, but has been updated to provide
clarification under the ‘definitions’ and ‘appeals’ section on Page 6.

The full admission arrangements can be found on our website HERE with the proposed changes highlighted on Page 6. This consultation will open on Wednesday 3 December 2025 and close on Wednesday 14 January 2026.

Any comments relating to the proposed arrangements will need to be received by Wednesday 14 January 2026 using the Online Response Form via this LINK or, if you prefer, you can respond via email to clerk@mgs.kent.sch.uk or by post to Denise Friend, Clerk to Governors, Maidstone Grammar School, Barton Road, Maidstone, Kent, ME15 7BT. Paper copies are available on request. The proposed arrangements will also be available on Kent County Council’s website.

The Governing Body will meet soon after the closure of the admissions consultation to consider any comments. The school will then determine its arrangements for the academic year 2027-28, a copy of which will be published on the school website.
