Joining Year 7 in September 2023

Dear Future Maidstonian,

Congratulations on gaining a place at Maidstone Grammar School! We look forward to getting to know you and your family in the months ahead. While changing schools can be daunting, we will ensure a smooth transition for you, and I’m confident that you’ll find life here both stimulating and friendly.

There are two significant dates for you to remember in the next few months:

  • Wednesday 26 April: We will have a meeting at 7.00pm in the Big Hall for parents/carers and boys to tell you more about coming to MGS. Due to limited space in the hall, we request that boys are accompanied by one parent/carer only and that siblings do not attend.
  • Thursday 13 July: We will have our Induction Day and invite all new boys to come for the whole day.

In addition to these dates, you and your parents/carers will be invited to join us for a House Tea in June, where you will have the opportunity to meet your Head of House, Assistant Head of House, and other Year 6 students joining your house. Invitations with date details will be sent once house allocations have been made. Please refrain from purchasing any house-specific kit until your house is confirmed in June.
