Dear Soon-to-be Maidstonian,

I would like to congratulate you on gaining a place at Maidstone Grammar School. You will be a part of our 477th cohort of students to join since our founding in 1549.

We look forward to getting to know you and your family in the months ahead. Changing schools can be a daunting prospect with many new challenges and demands. However, I am confident that you will find life at MGS both stimulating and welcoming. We will work to ensure your transition is as smooth as possible.

There are three important dates for you to remember in the coming months:

1. Year 6 Welcome Evening – Wednesday 23 April, at 6pm, in the Big Hall

This event is for you and your family to attend to learn more about your transition to MGS and life at the school.

2. House Teas – Week Beginning 3 June

In addition, you and your parents or carers will be invited to a House Tea in the week beginning 3 June. This will be an opportunity for you to meet your Head of House, Assistant Head of House, and other Year 6 students in your house.

3. Year 6 Induction Day – Thursday 3 July

You, along with all the other Year 6 students joining us, will be invited to spend the day at MGS to experience school life before September.

Further information on how to accept your offer has been shared with your parents or carers, along with login details to our registration portal, Applicaa. If your parents or carers cannot find this information, they should contact our Admissions Officer, Mrs Smith, via ssmith@mgs.kent.sch.uk
