Drama enriches and contributes greatly to our School community. All students, whether they are an experienced performer or a complete novice, are encouraged to develop and explore their dramatic talents.

Maidstone Grammar School is fortunate to have had a purpose built Performing Arts Block opened in September 2017.

We encourage all Maidstonians to see themselves as budding actors and performers and we welcome them to audition for our school productions, to participate in Drama Club or to put themselves forward to perform at a Showcase. All students who formally study Drama are encouraged to perform in front of the School, their family and friends regularly.

We hold at least one major live performance each term. In recent years, the School has put on ‘The Wedding Singer’, ‘Shrek the Musical’, ‘The History Boys’, ‘Little Shop of Horrors,’ ‘Bugsy Malone’, ‘Treasure Island’, ‘DNA’ and ‘School of Rock’.  In addition to the performance of a play or musical, there are also Showcases which are a chance for a variety of performances to show their talents to a live audience.
