Personal, Social, Health and Citizenship Education (PSHCE), including Relationships and Sex Education (RSE).

We has a high quality, tailor made PSHCE programme. All students in Key Stage 3 and 4 (Years 7-11) receive one taught lesson a fortnight delivered by our very experienced Head of PSHCE. Our PSHCE programme covers the requirements of the new statutory Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) and Health Education guidance for schools. Students cover the physical and emotional sides of sex within a relationship and the features of healthy relationships, delivered in an age appropriate way in order to equip them to make informed choices. We also cover a range of other carefully chosen topics and themes which have a strong emphasis on safeguarding, including online safety, bullying, homophobia, mental health and well-being and personal safety. Our “spiral” approach means that students meet and / revisit many of these topics on a number of occasions, exploring them in increasingly greater depth as they move up through the school.
