Helplines and Resources

Results day can be a stressful time, whatever the outcome. There are a range of helplines and resources available to support you with your next steps or coping with anxiety around your results.

The National Careers Service runs a dedicated Exam Results Helpline, offering free, impartial advice on options after receiving results, including further study, apprenticeships and employment routes. Trained careers advisers are available to talk through individual circumstances and next steps, whatever the results say.

For young people struggling emotionally, Childline has a dedicated exam results page offering guidance on managing feelings of disappointment, pressure or worry, alongside access to trained counsellors around the clock.

Action Mental Health also provides practical advice on managing anxiety before and after results, recognising signs of stress, and where to turn for further support.
